The NRG Island system is designed for quick and easy installation, directly on the banks of reservoirs, quarries and dams. Thanks to its modular structure, the floating units are pre-assembled on the ground and then connected horizontally and vertically, allowing the floating photovoltaic system to be built efficiently and safely.

NRG Island systems offer significant advantages over other floating photovoltaic systems in the market.  The innovative design of our floats and frames allows for a quick and easy assembly, and adapts to any type of photovoltaic panel. The proximity to the water surface and increase in reflected light improves energy efficiency, allowing for an increase of the energy production up to 15% more than any  similar system installed on land.

Our systems, in addition to having a higher efficiency in energy production, reduces the evaporation rate of water by up to 90%.
Furthermore, by not occupying the space under the panels, we can promote air circulation under the modules, preserving adequate oxygenation of the water.
To build our systems we use only new materials, which do not release pollutants into the water. This allows us to install in complete safety even on drinking water basins or habitats populated by flora and fauna.

Safety, stability and resistance

The flat surface of our floating installations guarantees an extremely stable and safe platform, allowing you to walk easily on the walkways formed by continuous rows of floats, without wasting spaces. This design makes maintenance operations simple and safe. In addition to, the high quality of the materials, the compactness of the structure gives the island a greater resistance even to the most extreme weather conditions, offering high wind resistance. Excellent stability is guaranteed by a patented anchoring system and a customized docking, sized and measured for each specific installation requirement.

The advantages of water systems

  • Water saving: in the areas covered by the systems (the coverage is however partial) the evaporation of the water underneath is reduced by up to 90%.
 
  • We redevelop abandoned areas: floating plants do not consume land by their nature, except for the components aimed at connecting to the general electrical network. Furthermore, they do not involve the construction of buildings and infrastructures that are difficult to decommission in the event of restoration of the pre-existing environmental state.

  • Increased efficiency: floating solar panels offer better performance compared to ground-based systems, where high summer temperatures, especially near the ground, reduces both the efficiency and lifespan of the modules. For the same size, a floating PV system can generate up to 15% more electricity than one installed on land.
  • Abandoned areas, salt water and fresh water reservoirsNRG Island systems can be installed anywhere, easily adapting even to former abandoned quarries and reservoirs. This solution not only, enhances spaces that are normally unused, but also allows for effective control, preventing degradation and the risk of them becoming illegal landfills.

  • Reduced maintenance: the panels installed on the floating NRG Island system require significantly less maintenance than ground or roof-mounted photovoltaic systems. In addition, there is no need to cut vegetation, which is typically required by traditional PV systems, hence initial site preparation is minimized, as no ground leveling work is required. All this while ensuring the same operational efficiency as a traditional system.
